Vanessa Francis Gray, AICP is a professional development coach serving in two capacities: providing coaching services to Department of Army staff as a member of the Army Coaching Program and as an independent coach to high level leaders and business owners. Vanessa received her coach training from Two Roads Leadership (a division of Flatter, Inc.). During her training, Vanessa's mentor coaches encouraged her to begin coaching 'in the wild.' Soon after, she began coaching several clients who are professionals in the travel industry, film and television, federal government and tech. In May 2023, Vanessa started her independent coaching platform, VFG Consulting Group Her specialties are strategic planning, leadership development and life-work harmony. Her client focus includes emerging leaders and leaders changing careers. As the spouse of an Army veteran, Vanessa is also committed to supporting military spouses through coaching. Vanessa’s life experience supporting her coaching expertise is a 15-year career as an urban planner working for local governments, universities, hospitals and the U.S. military. In addition to her coaching practice, she also serves as a community planner for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and holds a master’s degree in City and Regional Planning from Morgan State University. Her interests include languages, yoga and cooking global cuisines.
