KDR Communications, LLC
As a Communications Strategist, Kelly offers 20 years of experience in communications, marketing, and public relations. She was responsible for all communication and marketing aspects of business development, stakeholder engagement, and partnership implementation throughout her career. The 30+ partnerships she served spanned higher education institutions and government organizations totaling over $3B in development costs. Among the highlights of her successful career, Kelly developed hundreds of winning strategies, including developing the first-ever system-wide public-private partnership with 9 campuses across the University System of Georgia. The partnership included delivering 3,753 new beds within 16 months and the operation of 6,195 existing student housing beds. In addition, Kelly managed public relations for a significant number of crises and served as a media spokesperson. She has been quoted in outlets such as the New York Times, Washington Post, NPR, Military Times, Reuters, and others. Previously, Kelly worked in program and administrative management for high-profile non-profits in Washington, D.C., including the National Organization on Disability and the World Committee on Disability. Kelly launched KDR Communications, LLC, to provide executive-level communication and public relations expertise as a Fractional Communications Officer to help organizations, large to small, for-profit and non-profit, scale strategies without the high cost or complexity of a large in-house team. At KDR, clients receive unmatched access to senior leadership, allowing rapid impact and ultimate flexibility. Kelly is a proud military spouse and co-owns the company with her husband, Rob Douglas, a service-disabled veteran having served 28 years in uniform. KDR is a certified Women Owned Small Business. She received the Department of the Army Achievement Medal for Civilian Service and the Iron Mike Award for volunteerism. She is the MacDill AFB Chapter Lead for the Association of Military Spouse Entrepreneurs, an Ambassador for Westshore Alliance, a member of Working Women Tampa Bay, and Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority. Kelly also loves being a Mom to her two daughters, Peyton and Bristol.
