Caméa grew up in New Jersey where dogs and cats have always been a part of her life. After 15 years as an Army Wife, her family settled in Yorktown, VA where they have resided since 2007. ​ Since an early age, Caméa has had a great love for all animals and it was only natural for her growing family to always have pets. During her 29 years of marriage, Caméa has been a pet parent to eight fabulous dogs, four cats, ten hamsters (seven at the same time) and numerous fish. Most were rescues and all were incredibly loved. She has volunteered at shelters, fostered several rescue dogs and always stops for an animal in need. Knowing her love for animals, her friends would never hesitate to have her care for their own pets. After working for a professional pet sitting company for a short period of time, Caméa decided to venture out on her own. In 2012, Caméa started Hearts at Home Pet Sitting and has continued to provide professional and compassionate care to Hearts at Home’s clients in the comfort of their own home ever since! She forms strong bonds with the pets in her care and usually has proven success in getting fearful dogs and cats to warm up to her. Caméa believes our pets are important and beloved members of our family; they bring love, companionship, and security. Our pets deserve the BEST when their families cannot be there. Therefore, she continues ongoing education in pet care, dog training and keeps up to date with new developments in animal behavior. Each year she attends both in person and online conferences in the pet and business industries. The strong compassion and empathy Caméa feels for animals helps her understand the valuable role companion animals play in our lives.
