Kristin Macapagal (she/her/hers) is the proud daughter of Filipino/a/x immigrants, a younger and older sister, and a mom-to-be. Kristin currently lives in Okinawa, Japan with her spouse, who is an active duty U.S. Air Force Pararescueman. She earned a B.A. in English at The University of Texas at Austin in 2007 and master’s degree in International Education Policy at Harvard Graduate School of Education in 2009. Kristin taught high school English on the Navajo Nation as a 2009 Teach For America – New Mexico corps member and spent eight years working in education with sovereign indigenous Nations in the rural Four Corners of New Mexico. She has prior experience directing human resources at a for-profit company, teaching technological literacy in rural Namibia, supporting programs at an international education nonprofit, directing a global leadership network, and facilitating leadership development for high achievers, educators, school and systems leaders, and nonprofit teams. The majority of Kristin’s career has focused on leadership development, team culture, and diversity, equity and inclusion. She is a certified professional coach through CoachDiversity Institute and a member of the International Coaching Federation. Kristin loves helping professionals to solve tough team culture challenges, create powerful, inclusive culture plans to retain top talent, and become effective leaders that others line up to follow. She has a particular passion for coaching high-achieving professionals who identify as children of immigrants, BIPOC women and LGBTQIAP+ leaders overcoming imposter syndrome and developing strong leadership and management skills.
